Osceola County EMS Infant Safe Sleep Program

Osceola County EMS is a certified Infant Safe Sleep Agency through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Emergency Medical Services for Children program. This certification required that all of our clinical staff be trained in:

• The recognition of unsafe sleep environments. 
• How to provide direct on-scene education (DOSE) to families and caregivers. 
• How to obtain safe sleep resources for members of our community and surrounding areas. 

Osceola County EMS is able to provide critical education and resources for families to provide a safe sleep environment for infants in the home. These services include: 

• In-home sleep environment evaluations, education, and training for parents, siblings, and caregivers. 
• Assistance in creating a safe-sleep environment for infants. 
• Referrals to local resources. 
• Pack-and-Play portable cribs, wearable blankets, and other safe-sleep related items. 
• Community education for schools, churches, groups, and organizations.
